About Me

If there's one way to sum me up, it's probably through the technologies that have impressed me most along the way.

Computers and video games have been an entertaining kind of brain-exercise for me since I was a kid — equal parts imagination, physics, and simple mathematics. My first video game was a handheld Pac-Man arcade running on 4 D-cell batteries. I couldn't have been older than five, but I could still lose myself in a world of silly ghosts and an endless supply of light-circles to eat.

My first "computer" was a Timex Sinclair — my father had a habit of bringing home whatever impressive new technology he came across. BASIC was, well, basic enough to make sense of.

Not long after, a family friend had a Magnavox Odyssey² — similar to the Atari everyone else had, but with some genuinely interesting games of its own. I didn't actually play Pong until a neighbor got one, and only then did it click that "pong" meant ping pong.

A friend of mine runs koko.tokyo, a listings site for live music shows around Tokyo — worth a look if you're ever here for a gig.
